How Comedy Shows Bring Families Together

by Hank Evans

Television has become the most popular medium and indispensable device of today's generation. Technological innovation has assumed an integral part in the lives of the people especially among children. Media exposure carries both risk and benefits for the children and poses a great challenge to parents to monitor what the children are watching since television has become the main source of knowledge for children.

Media exposures have a strong negative and positive influence on children. Media can shape a kid's attitude in a positive way by emphasizing cooperation, tolerance, respect, and other socially constructive behavior. On the other hand, negative effects include violence, initiation to drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, obesity, and early exposure to sexual behavior.

Make watching TV a family activity. Consider having a regular "family movie night" at home. Search some kind of kid friendly title that is suitable for the whole family and involve children in choosing and talking about the films you watch together. When a family sits together and watch movies they bring the family closer.

You can't begin to imagine the tons of shows that the whole family can enjoy. Watching comedy shows is really a fun way to bond together. It makes the children more cooperative, and it promotes a better relationship between parents and children.

If your children are experiencing some degree of pain, just turn on the TV and switch the channel to something funny. You'll be surprised to see that your kids will be able to better cope with the pain. It would really be nice if your kids look forward to family TV day as much as you do.

It really does not matter what kind of shows your children choose. They can watch movies that even grown ups will enjoy. The important thing is that you can be together and laugh together as a family.

Watching a wholesome comedy with your kids and laughing with them teach them to approach life in a more relaxed way and making them feel less stressed out when things get wrong. It also teaches them that having a sense of humor is a powerful tool to your daily mood and emotional state of good health.

Comedy shows do bring families together, and you are very much encouraged to watch these shows with your children. These shows will not only get them laughing, but teach valuable lessons. By and large the one lesson that you can get by watching comedy shows on TV is to lighten up and enjoy life.
