Ways Of Making Structural Designs For Table Top

Most of the old tables are worn out, especially the table top. Rather than purchasing another one, why not make several structural works to have it looks good as new? There are businesses that provide services on refurbishing kitchen area. They can give you tips and help you recreate a new look for your old kitchen table.

You can replace old table top with hard wood, stainless steel, glass, or granite materials, whichever fits with the rest of your kitchen surfaces. You can also try different forms for the table tops. Conventional shapes are rectangular, round, or oval table tops. Round and oval shapes are safer since these shapes have no pointed corners that can harm you and your kids. Adding space for extra person is easier in round and oval table tops.

You can also create a tile table top. Fit the tiles on the table top and cut the extra parts. Smooth the rough edge with tile file. Put ceramic adhesives at the back of the tiles and stick them on the table top. Apply grout on the tiles and into the gaps. Wait for 2 days, then apply a sealer.

You can use fabric to create a new table top look. Cut the cloth that will fit the size of the table top. Using decoupage glue, attach the cloth on the table top. Then, put high-gloss shellac for fabric protective covering. Use tacks or cut glass to frame the cloth on table top.

To make a new look for your wood table top, try to refinish it. Using a scraper, grate the old finish. Afterwards, smooth it with emery paper. Apply polyurethane coating on the table top. Allow it to dry. Then, apply the second layer of polyurethane coating. Let it dry once again, and then put on the third layer of coating.

Lately, there is an innovative design for kitchen tables. Apart from its usual uses in cooking, dining, and writing, tables are now designed with integral power points, and perhaps even sink with water and drainage outlets. It can also be secured solidly to the kitchen floor.
